Lubin

Supplier to Royal Courts
Founded in 1798 to serve a clientele of dandies following the French Revolution, the company flourished under the First Empire, thanks to the protection of Empress Joséphine, wife of Napoleon I, and the Emperor’s sister, Princess Pauline Borghese. Upon the return of the Bourbons, Lubin became a supplier to the last Queen of France.

Pioneering Spirit
One of France’s oldest luxury brands, Lubin was also one of the first Parisian companies to promote its expertise to the international elite, thanks in particular to the pioneering individuals who represented the brand on every continent. From the mid-19th century, over half of the company’s output was exported from Europe to North and South America, Asia and Africa.

The House of Lubin was established in the heart of Paris near the Pont Neuf, where the perfumers and alchemists could be found during the 17th and 18th centuries.

THE QUEEN’S SECRET GARDEN

Black Jade

A black jade bottle held the last remaining scents of a secret garden. The discovery of its formula, copied by an indiscreet apprentice, revealed its mysteries. It belonged to a queen in the Trianon rose gardens, far from the splendors of the Court, before the turmoil of history was unleashed. Entrusted to a noblewoman and very dear friend, it has come down to us through the ages to be reborn today.

A FRESH AND SPARKLING COCKTAIL OF THE 50’S

Gin Fizz

In 1955, a movie star captivated the crowds: she embodied for the entire world the very elegance of America. Her mysterious charm even captured the heart of a Prince! It was in honour of her extraordinary beauty that Lubin created then a perfume which marked the decade: a very chic perfume, sparkling and fresh, evoking the cocktail in fashion that year in Paris.

The fragrance was first created in 1955 by celebrated perfumer Henri Giboulet as a tribute to Grace Kelly in the year she won an Oscar for her role in The Country Girl.
